I am Rob, the editor of Le Bon Lifestyle. I am married to Gemma and love the finer things in life. My passions are food and travel.

‘You’ll have to try my friends restaurant in London, its one of the best Italian restaurants in town’ said our very amiable driver Poppie on the journey from Naples to Positano. It turned out that Poppie was quite the foodie and his friend happened to be the two Michelin-starred chef Antonio Mellino. A quick google revealed that Quattro Passi was indeed as Poppie described it ‘one of the best Italian restuarants in London’ so we didn’t waste any time in booking it up as soon as we got back home to blighty. The restaurant is located on Dover Street in Mayfair, the chic haunt of London’s super rich. The interior is stylish and lowly lit with a warm atmosphere. Additional points were scored with Gemma as she was presented with a bag stool for her prized Jimmy Choo handbag. We arrived a little early so took up the invitation of…

How many times in your life have you ever felt totally free? Free from worrying about your mortgage, your job, your relationship, the next bill to come in, all those thoughts that consume your sub conscious every waking hour. As I stood on the Perito Moreno Glacier in Southern Argentina, staring out at the snow capped Patagonian mountains, canvassed with fir trees, rising up from aqua marine lakes fed by rivers of ice it suddenly dawned upon me – I wasn’t thinking about anything else but this moment, I was truly present and at peace with myself – that’s the power this place has over you – an instant meditational affect and the kind of destination that makes you remember why you love to travel. Things to do El Calafate You can book your Perito Moreno Glacier tour from a multitude of agencies situated along the main street in El…

Before I start this review I have a small confession to make…my wedding was in Maratea, Basilicata so I fear my glasses may have that suspicious tint of rose and my judgement may be somewhat clouded by the mist of love…but what the heck – much as I want to keep Basilicata ‘our little secret’ I can’t! Like love itself I have to scream about this place from the rooftops and share it with the world so everybody can appreciate this hidden gem in southern Italy. (Ok, emotional outporing done I promise – now onto the review!) Situated around 2.5 hours drive south from Naples, Basilicata is the Amalfi Coast’s lesser known little brother. Except…strip out the tourists, dial up the scenery, raise the bar up a few notches on the food (OMG the mozzarella!) and add some spectacular wines and suddenly little brother is punching way above his weight.…

It had been nine years since my last visit to the Amalfi Coast and somehow I had managed to forget just how breathtakingly beautiful it was…We were married a couple of hours down the road at The Santavenere Hotel in Maratea in the Basilicata region of Italy so this part of the world will always hold a special place in our hearts. For our 10th wedding anniversary we wanted to take a walk down memory lane and spend a couple of days in Positano, as we had done all those years ago, before heading further south to The Santavenere. The 1.5 hour drive from Naples to Positano, first past the imposing and ominous Mount Vesuvius, then along the achingly beautiful, if not slightly heart stopping, high and winding coastal road to Sorento and then onto Positano soon reminded me why I fell in love with this place all those years…
